The Structural-Demographic State of America II
Well-being/Immiseration
I continue my survey of structural-demographic trends in today’s America. This installment focuses on various proxies of well-being (and, conversely, immiseration). I start by revisiting the real median wage. As we saw in the previous post, this measure of economic well-being was stagnant until the late 1990s, and then increased by 25% by 2024.
